GIANT BLOG (Oxford/ Eye of London)

Yesterday, we went to Oxford, and I forgot to mention the Bodleian Library and the Great Hall. The Bodleian Library is a Library in Oxford, it is one of the Oldest Libraries in Europe. They have 14 million Books, (not in the specific library we went in which was Duke Humfreys Library) because back a long time ago, they signed a thing that said they would get a copy of every book ever printed for free, and it is still working to this day. They said they get a Truck full of 5,000 Books each week. They said since anyone can publish books they get a lot of bad books. But for free. All free copies. Also, all of the old books in the Library are dusted every 4 years and they are protected by a folder. They are kept very well preserved. Here are some images of Duke Humfreys Library (which is part of the Bodleian Library Collection)

Also, we went to the Great hall, which is where they filmed the Harry Potter movies for the Great Hall. They use it to eat for Oxford, but it is very beautiful!

Monday, I was still in London. I would have School, but I got to skip Monday to be in London. Monday, we got up, we had Eggs for breakfast. After that, we got all of our things out of the room because we had to be out of the room by 11 AM. We went to put them in a place that holds bags for people, and then we started to walk to the London Eye. The London Eye is basically just a Huge Ferris Wheel, but each of the pods are closed all around by glass. About 20 people can fit in one pod. Here is a picture of the London Eye.

It goes higher than most of the Buildings in London, including Big Ben. The weather was not that nice out, it was cloudy, but it was not raining, just a bit dark. We went on it, and I got some pictures with the Eye, and when I am at the top of the Eye.

At the Top of the Eye!
Under the Giant Ferris Wheel!

It took about a half an hour to get around it. It never stops moving, it is just moving very slowly so people have time to get off and get on when a pod is at the bottom. It was really fun! There was also a lot of good Pokemon since the Eye was right next to the River.

I also got some good pictures with Big Ben. I ran over to it and took some pictures.

It was so cool to see up close! We next went to Buckingham Palace. Oma wanted to walk in front of it just to see it, but we walked up to it and there was a ton of people standing around it, and we had no idea what was going on. It turns out that The Changing of the Guards takes place every 2 days and there are a ton of people, so there was a parade, and we could not get anywhere.  We were there for about 90 minutes then we just decided to go back on the Subway to somewhere else.

We went to Trafalgar Square, and we had some food. I shared a Burrito with Levi, and we each got yogurt and cereal in it. We had a Harry Potter Walking tour at 1:30 PM. Me, Levi and my Mom went on that. We got to see where they were in the last movie, where they came out and almost got hit by the 19 bus in London, and it was really cool to be right where they filmed it.

Me and Levi went to Trafalgar Square and got to climb on the Lions that were by a huge monument.

The last place we went was the Tower of London. We got to walk on the walls around it, and see the whole thing.

We got to see a lot of Horses armor, people armor, different guns, weapons and really beautiful swards. We also got to see the Crown Jules. It is Londons Royaltys crowns from the past. Right now we are in the Airport. We have a flight in about an hour, and I get home at probably 12:30 past midnight. I have to go to school tomorrow. Im excited since I only have Tuesday, Wednesday and then Friday for school. Thursday, the Teachers are Striking so we dont need to go to school.
