Kilkenny and Glendalough day trip!!

Saturday, me, Levi, my Mom and Oma all went on a day trip on a bus to Kilkenny and Glendalough. It was the same time frame as our other day trip we did a while ago. It was from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. We all got up around 7:30 AM, and we had to walk down to the Ulster bank to catch our tour bus at 8:20 AM. It was by the Molly Malone statue, by the Liffey. We started walking down to the Ulster bank around 8:00 AM, and we got there in 15 minutes. We met other people who were going to go on the tour also. The bus came, and picked us up. It was a nicer and bigger bus than last time, plus it had WiFi.

The first destination on our day trip was Kilkenny. Kilkenny is the city in County Kilkenny and in the province Leinster. We stopped in a place called the Food Hall that had bathrooms, and there was a cool looking circle window that Levi really liked playing in.

Levi tried to climb the side of the Food Hall building.

We went to the Kilkenny castle, which is a really cool looking castle, and the inside of the castle was renovated back to looking really nice. There was a lot of cool looking rooms that had antique furniture and old artwork as well.

Hall in the Kilkenny castle that had a ton of artwork.
This was in a hall in the Kilkenny castle and it was a fireplace, but like 2 fireplaces in one. Double fireplace.

After we went to see Kilkenny castle, me, my Mom and Levi all walked down to try to find a store that we saw on the bus on the way in. It was called "Kitty's Cabin". We walked about 10 minutes and we found it, and inside was a ton of American candy and snacks. Levi got 2 bags of cheetos and I got a Peace Tea.

Before we bought the cheetos and peace tea for me and levi, we went to a restaurant called Cafe 22. I got a chicken wrap, and Levi got a breakfast bagel. The chicken wrap was very good, and it came with some side things like pasta and beans also.

After we were finished eating at Cafe 22 in Kilkenny, we had to hurry back to the bus because it left at 12:30 PM and we had to make it on. We made it back on the bus, and our next stop was Glendalough. Glendalough is pronounced Glendalock, but it is a place in County Wicklow. Wicklow has a lot of mountains, and lakes. It is very beautiful. Where we went had a big pillar, and a cool graveyard me and Levi explored.

We saw Glendalough lake, which is named Glendalough upper lake. It was very pretty. We got to walk on the side of the hills and see the lakes. Me and Levi ran on the side of the hills and past the trees and small waterfalls.

There were a ton of cool waterfalls that we got to see. Me and Levi got to climb down by them, and we even filled up our water bottle there because the water is fresh and got filtered through the mountains. Here is the picture of the Glendalough lake that we saw.

The lake was very pretty, and it was sunny out also which was really cool. It rained a couple of times but it only sprinkled. When we were driving into County Wicklow we saw on a hill the 'Holywood' sign.

In Wicklow, there are a ton of hills, and we stopped at this one place where our guide talked about Pete, and how it was used to heat houses a while ago. I was able to get on a rock that looked like a pyramid.

At the lake that we visited there was this place that me and Levi went on and it was right on the edge of the water. We could look out on the lake and all around us almost 360 degrees, was the lake, and it looked very pretty. The waterfalls on the sides of the hills were flowing down as Me and Levi walked on them. On the way back we sat on this funny tree that had a big branch sloping down.

The last stop that we went to, was to see a Sheep farmer. He had 2 sheep dogs. The purpose of the Sheep Dogs were to help herd the sheep. The dogs are basically trained to keep the sheep in-between the dog, and the human. The farmer had different whistles and could tell the dogs how and where to bring the sheep. He explained how they use the sheep and sell their fur, and use them for Meat. He showed us how the Dogs can herd the sheep. It was really interesting! We even got to get a picture with the Sheep Dogs!

Here are some videos of the Sheep Dogs!

After that we were done with our tour, and we went home at 6:00 PM. Sunday, I had a performance at 4:00 PM in a school about 30 minutes away from our house by Car. Me and Mama went to the Indian restaurant near our house after the recital at 4:00 PM. We got buttered chicken, and 2 orders of Garlic Naan Bread.

In 5 days, I go home to Grand Rapids with Oma and Levi. I cant wait to get back!
